The French braid is a unique hairstyle that will work well for a business meeting or a picnic. You can do it without any problems at home, you just need to follow simple instructions.
Classic French braid
The classic French braid is woven very easily. It also looks great on medium hair, first you need to comb your hair well with a damp comb. If the hair does not have a thick texture, then it is necessary to comb a small volume in order to give the braid pomp and airiness.
Then we weave strictly according to the instructions:
- We collect the hair at the forehead and comb it back, dividing the strand into three equal parts.
- Next, we intertwine the separated strands with each other, without losing the strand that is in the middle.
- Then you need to take small strands of hair from both sides of the head and cross them with a strand that is in the middle of the main braid.
- We also do it with the rest of the strands, to the end of the head, then we braid the remaining hair into a regular braid and fix the end with an elastic band.
The French braid should be tight and not fall apart. By braiding such a braid for medium hair, you can achieve wavy curls.
Braid with released curls
This hairstyle looks beautiful and very graceful and is perfect for both prom and date.
Weaving technique:
- To begin with, we comb the hair well, and begin weaving identical to the classic French braid, only not from above, but to the side of the head.
- We throw each strand that will go from the top of the head over the base of the braid and leave it hanging down.
- Next, we do the same with the rest of the strands, throwing over every third strand.
- Before completing your French braid, braid the remaining hair into a regular braid and hide it behind your ear.
- Then we curl each deflated strand into curls.
- The French braid with loose curls is ready.
To keep the hairstyle long and smoothed out, curled curls can be sprayed with hairspray.
French braid with a bun up to medium heads
It will be difficult to braid French braids on your own for medium hair, since its base will begin at the back of the head. Therefore, it is advised to ask for help from a friend or consult a specialist. Also, for weaving it, you need not only an elastic band, but also a chignon with jewelry. Once you master the classic version of the French braid, weaving will not be difficult.
The braiding technique is the same as that of a classic braid, only braiding should not be done from above, but from below. After the braid is braided, all the remaining hair is collected in a bun and a chignon is inserted into the inside, which is fixed with an elastic band. Then the tail and the chignon itself can be decorated with various hairpins with rhinestones if desired.
Fishtail for medium length hair
For hair of medium length, braiding a fishtail, you will need a comb, elastic band and hairpins.
The weaving technique is very simple:
- Comb the hair well and divide it into two equal parts.
- Then, we separate small strands from both parts, and throw them into the opposite bundle.
- We continue this way until the hair runs out, then fix the end of the tail with an elastic band.
This braiding technique is very simple, following it, you can easily braid a braid.
Fishtail vice versa
The weaving technique is to weave the opposite way. As in the classic French braid, we divide the hair into two parts, but we put the strands when weaving, not from above, but from below.
French weave with ribbons
It is no different from the classic French braid, only before weaving it is necessary to tie a ribbon to one of the strands and weave it into the braid.
French braid along the temple
This type of braid begins to weave with the separation of the parting into two unequal parts. This hairstyle is also suitable for girls with medium long hair. Unlike a regular French braid, the strands are intertwined from the center on only one side to keep the braid straight. Then we hide our braid behind the ear, while securing it with hairpins. The scythe is ready.
French braid with knot
There are a lot of options for creating a braid with a knot. We weave a French braid on both sides, also at the base of the temple. Parting hair into two equal parts. At the same time, do not forget, we stop at the back of the head. We collect the remaining hair in a bun at the back of the head and fix it with hairpins. The knot can be lowered to the bottom, or it can be raised up and tied into a bump.
You can also bundle braided hair and secure it with hairpins., it will add elegance to the hairstyle and it is suitable even for a romantic evening.
4-strand French braid
Step by step:
- Divide the hair all over the head into four parts.
- Take one strand at the top of the head.
- We draw the uppermost part under the second, then over the third and display under the fourth.
- We do the same with the rest of the parts.
Medium Length French Side Braid
The braid is woven from the left or right side of your choice in the form of a regular classic French braid. On medium hair, this hairstyle looks especially attractive. We intertwine two strands on both sides of the central one. After the end of braiding, the remaining hair is collected in a chaotic ponytail or braided into a regular braid.
Side French braid with tail
The whole technique of weaving French braids is very similar. Mostly, it suits even girls with medium long hair. In order to braid this type of braid, it is necessary to comb all the hair to one side, from which the braid will be braided. Then the braid is braided using the technology of an ordinary French braid and at the end the remaining hair is tied into a ponytail and secured with an elastic band.
You can braid to the middle, and make a tail at the back of the head. This will make the braid look much more impressive.
And it is possible to leave on the side and curl the curls for a more elegant hairstyle for a chic evening. Hairdressers advise weaving it on clean, dry hair, but many women note that the ideal moment for this is 2-3 days after shampooing. Then it will not unravel and will last all day. However, clean hair will make the hairstyle more effective, although it will take some work.
It is better to start learning to weave with the classic version. Then, when the hand is full and the curls are evenly distributed along the entire length, you can move on to more complex variations. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't work the first time. The time spent will pay off in the end, and the hairstyle will attract the views of others.
French braid in the tail
She's an English braid. The hair is taken into a ponytail, then braided in the classical way of three curls and fixed at the bottom with an elastic band or other decoration. You can fix the result with varnish and smooth unruly hair with gel.
French braid on bangs
This braid forms a kind of wreath on the head, completely revealing the forehead. It starts from one ear and goes up to the other ear. There are variations where the bangs remain as they are, and the braid is woven a little closer to the crown.
Performance:
- Comb, parted. Hair that is not involved in the process can be pulled into a ponytail so that it does not interfere.
- Select a small strand at the temple, just above the ear, and divide it into three equal parts. Weave 2 links in the usual way. Further, free curls are added on the sides, and so the braid is woven to the other ear.
- Fasten the ends with a silicone rubber band and remove with invisible hair. For more volume, you can stretch the side strands a little. Fix with varnish.
French braid "Milkmaid"
In this version, two braids are braided on the sides and fixed in the form of a rim on the head.
Performance:
- Divide the hair into a parted part and comb. If they are fluffy, you can use a gel or foam.
- You need to weave two simple pigtails on the sides above the ears, and at the end fix it with silicone rubber bands. To prevent loose hair from getting in the way while working on the other half, you can temporarily secure it with an elastic band or clip.
- Secure with varnish. Take one of the braids and stretch it to the other side of the head so that you get a rim. Fix the ends with invisible ones. Then pull the second pigtail according to the same principle, you can cross with the first. Also secure with invisibility. Sprinkle with varnish again.
French weaving "Waterfall"
The braid falls diagonally down the hairdo, starting at the side and ending on the opposite side. Usually weaving occurs from left to right, although it will be more convenient for a left-hander to do the opposite - from right to left. Unlike the usual version, the top section must be released down after it has been woven into the hair. It will not be used further.
For the next time, a new strand is taken from above, woven into the braid and again lowered. This creates a "waterfall" effect. The technique is not the easiest to perform and requires a full hand. However, after several workouts, the braid will definitely work out.
Step by step:
- Comb and make a side parting: for the right-hander - on the left, for the left-hander - on the right. Slightly above the temple from the parting side, select a strand towards the opposite side of the head and divide it into 3 parts. Weave the first link as usual.
- Add some hair from the top of the head to the top curl and apply over the central working strand. Then the lower strand must be released - it is no longer needed. Instead, you need to highlight the curl under this unnecessary strand and bring it up as usual. Then again, hair is added to the upper strand and lowered down over the central curl. And there the lower strand again becomes unnecessary, a new one stands out under it and is brought up as usual. And so weave to the desired size.
- Secure the ends of your hair with an elastic band or hairpin.
Advanced craftswomen can complicate this hairstyle by turning the braid in the opposite direction, change the number of working strands or the place of the parting.
Reverse French braid
She is Dutch, she is the opposite braid. The only difference from the usual one is that the strands are braided one under the other, and not one above the other.
Weaving is as simple as the classic one:
- Comb your hair and take it back. If the bangs are not involved, you can comb it to the side. Make a horizontal parting at the level of the temples so that all the hair on the head is divided into 2 large parts. Divide the upper part into three strands.
- Now the side strand must be held under the central one. Then, from the opposite side, stretch a curl under the central strand. Gradually weave loose hair from the sides into the hairstyle.
- Complete the braid to the end and secure with an elastic band.
Two braids in the form of a wreath for medium hair
Here two braids are woven on the sides until they meet at the back just above the back of the head. Then they are intertwined with each other, and loose hair is hidden under them.
Step by step:
- Comb your hair, make a straight part. Remove the unnecessary part in the tail.
- Select a strand at the forehead, divide into three parts. Start to weave in the classic way past the ear, starting the braid to the back of the head. Additional curls are woven along the sides as you move. Moreover, the lower and upper hair should be fully involved. Loose hair may remain at the back of the neck.
- When the pigtail comes to parting, you need to stop adding new curls to it and braid it to the ends. Secure with silicone rubber. Make the second braid in the same way.
- Now the resulting braids must be superimposed on each other so that you get a wreath. Secure with hairpins and invisibility. If there is hair left below, pick it up in a loop tail and hide it under the braids.
Aerial French braid
The essence of the method is as follows: after the end of weaving, you need to pull out the strands a little on the sides to get an “airy” effect.
Step by step:
- Comb the hair along the entire length, collect a small ponytail from the bangs at the crown of the head. Can be fixed with a small elastic band for the convenience of further weaving. A silicone rubber band is perfect for this. At the end, you will need to cut it off.
- Divide the strand into three sections. Next, shift the side strands in turn to the place of the middle one, on top of it. As the hairstyle moves down, pull the hair to the side strands.
- When the braid reaches the neck, continue to weave the regular braid to the end. Secure the ends with an elastic band. The one at the base must be carefully cut off.
- Fix the hairstyle with varnish. Now you need to gradually pull out the side curls of the braid, starting from the top of the head and continuing down to the securing elastic band. This must be done carefully so that “waves” form on the sides of the braid. Fix the resulting beauty with invisibility.
Braiding takes time to master all the different techniques that have been thought of by hairdressers. These hairstyles are designed for both long and medium hair. French braids are an all-time classic and have been popular for over 100 years.
