Who suits the chocolate shade

Chocolate color consists of three pigments in different proportions - black, beige and restrained red. In various combinations, they give warm and cold tones.

The classic chocolate tone in the palettes of Garnier, L'Oreal and others is a restrained cool-brown color with a rich shine. Unlike chestnut, it does not have pronounced red and copper pigments, therefore suitable for any color type.

Hair dye, chocolate shades (photo below), contains reflective particles, liquid mother-of-pearl, emphasizing the shine of the hair. Most of them are found in the popular Color Sensation lines from Garnier and L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss.Hair dyes with chocolate shades. Thanks to the gloss, a universal tone is obtained in which warm and cold pigments are evenly distributed, so it suits different types of appearance. In other lines, reflective pigments with pearlescent textures are not enough. Therefore, the tone of chocolate from other brands may be too warm or cold and not suitable.

Chocolate shade suits:

  • owners of a pinkish skin tone without yellowness (the most common chocolate tones);
  • fair-skinned;
  • owners of light brown and dark hair (a natural effect is obtained);
  • those with porcelain, white and pink skin;
  • those with thick and expressive eyebrows;
  • women with dark skin, if there is no painful yellowness;
  • girls with smooth skin without inflammation;
  • different color types of appearance (classic chocolate - summer, autumn, winter; warm colors - autumn, spring and winter; dark colors - winter, summer and autumn; light colors - summer and spring).

Who does not suit the shade

Hair dye - chocolate shades (see photos of models below) - emphasizes fatigue and yellowness of the face.

This shade will not work:

  • if there is a pronounced greenish, gray or yellow skin tone (yellowness, for example, is emphasized by warm tones);
  • there are one or more large moles and age spots on the face;
  • natural blondes;
  • if you have moles, age spots and imperfect skin tone;
  • owners of light eyebrows;
  • light-skinned representatives of the spring color type (dark and classic chocolate);Hair dyes with chocolate shades. Photo palette Garenere, Loreal, Palette, Estelle, Capus, Cies, Igora, Matrix

Other lines, such as Matrix, contain unnamed chocolate shades or call them brown or chestnut shades. In such cases, it is better to choose shades with “tasty” names, for example, mocha, caramel or truffle - they are closest to the classic chocolate range. But it is better to choose chocolate shades in well-known palettes, especially from the top 10.

Using natural dyes

It is impossible to obtain chocolate shades from natural dyes, since they do not contain pearl, metallic and iridescent pigments, which are found in professional paints.Hair dyes with chocolate shades. Photo palette Garenere, Loreal, Palette, Estelle, Capus, Cies, Igora, Matrix

The only natural-based dyes containing tones reminiscent of chocolate can be henna-based dyes with synthetic dyes such as Henna color 3.3 Bitter chocolate or rare Indian herbs such as Ayurvedic paint from India Aasha herbals (dark chocolate).

But, unlike professional dyes, such dyes can give unpredictable results on light and gray hair.

You can bring the natural shade of hair closer to chocolate in the following ways:

  • 2 times a week, make a mask for 3 hours from strong natural coffee in half with cocoa (for 1 tbsp. Water 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder without milk and the same amount of thick natural coffee). The composition is used as a hair mask, kept for 30 minutes, then washed off with a mild shampoo or warm water.
  • In equal proportions, dye your hair with henna and basma with the addition of strong natural coffee.

Ombre, shatush or balayage in combination with chocolate color

Shatush with chocolate shades on blond hair requires darkening of the roots. Chocolate blond, golden chocolate or caramel are used depending on the initial hair color. On dark hair, preliminary lightening of the ends is used, after which - dyeing with the above shades.

The most common mixing options: black hair and chocolate fondant, dark blond hair with an ash tint and chocolate, dark chocolate and chocolate caramel.

For coloring ombre, chocolate shades are used in the root zone or added as a transitional color between dark and light shades. On light hair, the roots (reverse ombre) or tips are tinted, giving them expressiveness.

Hair dyes with chocolate shades work well by diluting them with ombre or other coloring techniques

Balayazh: chocolate shades are used in the root zone or mix dark and light. For example, the roots are dark chocolate, the tips are chocolate-red or caramel.

The most popular staining options:

  • sunny balayazh - mixing chocolate blond or golden chocolate against the background of the base color - chocolate or dark chocolate;
  • gradient options for coloring transitions from dark tones to light ones, and vice versa. Mixing of chocolate roots and pink strands is popular;
  • balayash and shatush using a basic chocolate cold tone and warm, reddish highlights (chocolate fondant, chestnut chocolate or chocolate caramel);
  • warm caramel - highlighting strands, shatush and balayage using caramel tones. Suitable for dark brown-haired women and brunettes.

How to care for a color

  • You need to use special shampoos for dark tones. Some are presented in lines of hair dyes (Palette, for example). Coloring kits contain a caring shampoo that prolongs color durability.

    The chocolate color fades in the sun and during the use of a hair dryer and hot styling. Masonry tools should be used as little as possible.

  • Do not allow hair to come into contact with chlorinated water.
  • It is necessary to use shampoos and conditioners for care that prolong the color fastness.
  • Tint dyes without ammonia will help revive the shade.

Chocolate shades will remain in trend for a long time, therefore, a properly selected hair dye, in the palette of which there are chocolate shades, will allow you to create an actual image not only for photos, but also in real life.

    I tried garnier ammonia-free paint and was unhappy, although I always used only paints from this company. After a week, the color became pale, almost completely washed out
